Don’t Lose Yourself in the Name of Love!!!!

How far should you go to please you significant other?  Should their hobbies become your hobbies?  Should you workout because they want you to?  How much should you bend yourself?

At what point do we lose ourselves? Is this you?

I am sure that most people have found themselves in a relationship at some point or another and have had to ask themself, “How the hell did I get here?!?!”.  Sometimes we can get so lost that we no longer recognize ourselves in the mirror.  Men try to become super heroes for their women and women often end up becoming little marionette dolls for their men to manipulate their every move, SMH!  The sad part is, because we spend so much time trying to become what our significant other wants, not only do we lose ourselves, but our partners never get a chance to know who we REALLY are!  So the question is, how much should you be willing to change in a relationship?  Does compromise mean that you must compromise who you are?  Grab you tea and lets talk!

Is there ever a time when friends shouldn’t be 100% honest with each other?

The truth.  Some say it will set you free.  Some will argue that people can’t handle the truth.  My friends and I had a little rhyme as kids when the truth was something that was…unfavorable: The truth hurts – if you are scared, go to church!!”  LOL!! We all ask questions that sometimes we don’t want a truthful answer to.  Do you ever find yourself stretching the truth or outright LYING to spare your friends’(or loved ones) feelings? Is this hurting or helping the situation?  Are we doing more harm by “setting them up” by telling them “what they want to hear” vs. THE TRUTH?!  I’m sure we have all done this –  is there a time when this is acceptable??  Have you ever been in a situation where you thought your version of the truth was better than the “real deal” and it backfired???!!!  Come on, spill the tea!!!!

Where do you stand on…

Birth Control for Teens?

Between 1988-2004, the U.S. pregnancy rate for teen’s age girls decreased from 111 pregnancies per 1,000 teen girls to 72 pregnancies per 1,000 teen girls in 2004. Although there has been a steady decline in teenage pregnancies, there are still 820,000 young women who become mothers every year. How do you keep your daughter, son, niece, or grandchild from becoming one of these 820,000 young parents?  Do you teach abstinence, birth control, or a combination of the two to your kids?
